Random thot

Its been almost two days since i havent worked much in office...not that i have done something great outside office either . God knows whats wrong, how can once spend the entire day infront of the TP doing nothing, just staring at work getting piled up. M jus not able to gather myself to put my energies into it- or may be my mind is pre-occupied, or may be I dont like what I have to do, or may be I am jus mad , who loves cribbing???

i just hope this phase ends soon, i hate not to work with my heart into it.

Dhoondte reh jaaoge !!

When I joined this corporate world in June'06 I was super excited. I was so self motivated that I did any and every work that came my way....and that too without any expectations!! People around me did took un-due advantage of this and gave me thr share of work as well..but I never realised....I mean I thot its my work and have to do it. My story is not unique, most freshers do come with this attitude.
But over years...why does it get washed away? Why does the enthusiasm ends? After few initial years we start getting into questions like - why do i work? what will I get? Why am I only asked everytime to do extra work?

Few probable reasons can be :
- The world is different from our imagination. We see all sorts of harsh corporate truths around - favor ism, biased bosses, no growth ( despite of hard work) , chamchas , etc. All these things kill the freshness/ motivation in an individual.
- Over the years people feel they are not getting right share of thr contribution- either in monetary terms or higher/better position/ opportunity
- People get content with whatever they have . The drive to achieve gets missing.
- People just want to project themselves as a " top Performer" initially to make a place for them , and once they get this they get to thr normal self.

I have thought of few things that can help in retaining the motivation :
- Always look at people lower than your level - ths is not a very good approach for Long Term growth . But by looking a your juniors you feel better in comparative sense
- Talk to people who like the role you are doing or who are interested in your area. This will make you feel good about your work
- For Females ( Wear new clothes to office - that in itself is a very big motivator to be in office )
That's all I can think of right now. Unfortunately for bosses and other corporate stuff i cudn't think of a solution.

Happy Working Friends- lets go on !!

Zara Socho

Imagine a scenario, where your worked for a client presentation. On the D-day the presentation goes very well, and the client is really happy with you. So happy that infront of other board members he gives you a tip of Rs.500 saying he loved your presentation. Your reaction???? How will you react?

Well if can take the liberty of speaking on behalf of most of us, i will feel isnsulted. Coz wat we used to is appreciation coming our way in a professional manner- by an award, by appreciation mail, by promotion etc. Not by handing over a TIP!!!
We do our job like a professional and expect same amount of professionalism from others., and by giving a tip we feel insulted

If we all agree to the above view, then why many of us land up giving tips to artists and in the process unknowingly insulting the artist??
Incase people are wondering where has this come from? here is the background-
I went to a grand resturant for dinner with family. Here there was a group of musician playing instuments like- sitar, tabla, and santoor. No doubt they were awesome, they just put life in the quite environment., They were so good that no one was talking all were peacefully enjoying the music. All was fine..until one mad man took my attention, where he just stood up n slipped a 500 ko note to the group. He was crazy, i cant forget the expression on the lead musicians face. He was by no way pleased to have the tip, he was annoyed.

This is wat triggered this post.
Why cant we respect people for their jobs, why do we have to neccesarily have to give a tip to show our praise. People might feel great with the thought of helping them by extending monetary help , but please do realise in the process you land up hurting poor man's sentiments.
These musicians etc are employeed with the hotel, they get their salaries. Why do we have to give them a tip??
I am sure their must be a different school of thought to my opinion as well, but my dear friends this is wat i feel. And I wish , that ugly man some days gets tip from his boss, so that he gets a taste of his own medicine.

Why?? and when??

There is so much running in my mind, that I don’t really know what to do? It’s been a long time, I had a sound sleep. People ask me , am I sad?? But my question is, is not being happy the only reason for not being at peace? There is a constant fight going on inside, fight of thoughts, fight of views. These internal fights are amazing , as you never seem to have the privilege of victory.
I wish I could speak my heart out to someone, but I feel it will not make sense. I feel I should write it down , but again am not able to hold myself for long doing it. I sincerely want to do so much, but just cant. People say thought is important, how come in actual life actions become more important than thought??

I can spend hours thinking about life, but can life spend a minute thinking about me????

Expectations- a door to Frustration!!

Why do people expect things from their near n dear ones?? Infact from any one for that matter?? If u see half of life's problem will be solved if we stop doing this. Children don’t spend time wth parents- parents are upset, husband doesn’t get gifts – wife is upset, kids dnt get admission in college- kids are upset….you plan for an outing and ur friend ditches u last minute- u r SAD.

All is just related to this one word – EXPECTATION.
Why cant we just let life be the way it is- I mean give your best and leave the rest. Why it has to hurt you every time when your dear ones don’t give you wat u want??

Well yes I am completely convinced today, that its absolutely wrong to expect something from someone?? Its like cutting a fool of urself…..

It doesn’t nessesarily has to be a big expectation…even smallest of thngs can make u feel like a looser…

Actually its all mind game…u expect ..u make plans…u start thnking…n then in one jolt all is gone…for a thing for which u mite have spend days thking…will have to go in a flash of a second and suddenly the mind doesn’t stop processing it. So it hurts!!

I remember once some one telling me - the key to happy life is not to expect. I wish I cud adopt this, n follow it fully. Everytime it happens,…the poor heart has to go thru all ths pain…

Well it’s not just wrong but a crime to expect something?? Atleast for your own sake , get this into your lifestyle - and dont expect !!!

Questions and more questions...

Don’t know what to do in life…..u feel things are out of your control….u think u cant take this anymore…..

We all have been in these or similar situations. We all go thru phases in life wen we r just about to break down…what one does in these situations???

More importantly why does even one has to go thru these…why cant we all have a mutual agreement with God ji – neither u trouble us nor we shall trouble u..

A simple and peaceful life is what one looks for….why suddenly one day we wake up to realize that we have complicated it…..

There are probably too many questions with just one answer….DESTINY

Destiny my friend is the answer to all questions. We all agree, that all of us have a story- in form of a life. I wonder at times , …man who has written so many stories?? Must be real creative one for sure….who other than “ bhagwan ji” must have done this Herculean task. I have heard people saying that every 5 people in this entire world have similar life story. GOD knows its true or not. Did GOD wrote all our stories together?? Or is he still writing?? Because if he is still writing we can ask him to tweak it a little na J Bollywood wasn’t then nether Ekta Kapoor– else God would have got some real cool ideas. Is that story writing factory still on..or the new generation is repeating any of our forefather’s story?

Inflation!!!!

Inflation reaching two digit figure..has taken every one by surprise, everyone is tensed over this overshooting commodity prices…its not normally that the economy bleeds like this.

But how do suddenly prices rise?? With my limited knowledge, I can attempt answering this.
Firstly prices don’t rise abruptly, we need to understand the cause behind this..Reason less supply and more money.…This is how we define inflation “ too much prices chasing few commodities” . i.e people have a lot of money to spend but the supply of goods and services not showing similar trends. The easy personal loans, low interest rates., the easy availability of car and white goods with EMI option etc..all raise the purchasing power of the economy….this is an ironic situation for only 14% of the families spend 15k or more on household expenditure and 38% is in the bracket of less than 4k a month. So who is actually having a high purchasing power?? The resources are concentrated in hands of Few Individuals – i.e how Poverty defined in Economics

Neways now with measures such as high Repo rate and CRR, what RBI is trying to do, is getting the excess money supply in place. Increased CRR and Repo rate will ensure banks lending capacity go down, and thus we will see the increase in PLR. All these will take time to get back the things to normal. All these will also impact the foreign inflow of cash in the economy. The stock market currently looks very depressing but it will bounce back.

Lets hope things get back to some shape soon….
